District Commissioner’s House, Fort Portal Uganda
Astri Griffin’s father, Mr R. D. Cordery, was D.C. in Uganda in the 1950s and 1960s. The family moved around a lot and lived in three different houses for little over a year each.

I remember this house. We lived at Kitchwamba, out of town on the Bwamba road. We could also get to town on the back road, the Saka road, and that went past the prison where the Griffins lived (Griffin was ex Palestine police, in Uganda as a prisons officer), so I wonder whether you were related to them. They split up but I was in contact with Rose Griffin on and off for many years,. whilst she was in Guernsey then later in Southampton.
