Dodoma House, Tanzania

Home of Margaret Reardon and her husband, who was D.O. in Tanganyika. The building was maintained by the Public Works Department and sparsely furnished, according to Reardon. She remembers: ‘the houses we were given were quite awful, dirty, insect infested, run-down and difficult to live in. There was acute water shortage, very barren and somewhat depressing.’
